THE BOOK

Thank you for stopping by my website! I would like to share my vision with you and I pray you will take this journey with me.
My question for you is: who is going to take care of you or your loved ones as you age, and do you want to empower yourself to navigate the best care possible by learning solutions before problems occur?
I have always been a strong advocate for the patient or those that need help. As an "out of the box" thinker, I tried to improve the patient experience in every situation I was in. As a nurse practitioner with over 40 years of experience, I realized there were many people who were homebound and needed care. This is where I saw that caregivers did not know how to anticipate common medical / legal problems to help prevent crises.

I started collecting pictures of my patients’ conditions, such as bedsores and skin tears. It was clear to me that I could be a conduit of care by illustrating these problems and emphasizing how to prevent them before they happen.

This book is unique because it shows the human and spiritual side of caring, as we age in place; Caregiver Success, Tips and Tools is filled with many pictures and illustrations. In addition, it focuses on problem-solving for the caregiver and empowers the “sandwich generation” baby boomer to not only care for others but to find his/her purpose in this journey called life. Any caregiver in any capacity will enjoy this book, either for themselves or for a friend in need.

My interests include my husband, Steve, my two grown children, Travis and Chelsea and their families. I love caring for the community as a faith community nurse. I also enjoy gardening, crafting, boating, baking and being an active senior with a sense of humor. Since 2019, I have had a YouTube channel called "Caregiver Success" where I post videos on a variety of topics - from how to use a Hoyer lift to daily life events as a retired baby boomer. The channel touches on real-time experiences of personal and family issues as well as solutions to problems I am navigating as I age. Please join me on my channel by clicking the link below.
